 Our 17th Birthday Celebrations

We will be holding our 17th Anniversary celebrations on Saturday,

  13th September 2008 — we started back on 16 September 1991 !!!!

It has been decided that all attendees are to wear BLUE to our celebration.

I challenge all our creative and talented guys to start planning their creations, ready to come along in something really spectacular in BLUE.   We also ask all who will be coming along, to what will be a great evening, to kindly bring along special goodies for the supper table.  We shall provide some liquid refreshments, but you are encourage to bring your own favorites.  Most thought that I would have said wear something PINK, but no the colour is BLUE.

  Our 2008 Christmas Party

I am pleased to announce that we will be holding our Christmas Party at the Taxi Club, on Saturday, 13th December 2008 —  in the function room on level 2 of the Taxi Club, Flinders Street, Darlinghurst, just along from Taylor Square.

The Executive Committee decided at its meeting on 12 July that should the         majority of the General Meeting support our proposal, then we would go ahead and hold the 2008 Christmas Party at the Taxi Club.  We had around 2 hands against the proposal, with the remainder agreeing to the change of venue.

Approx 80 guys attend the evening of 12 July.

One of the reasons we decided to hold the party at the Taxi Club, is that the hard working guys of our Catering Committee [working out the Kitchen] plus the guys who Set Up and Clean Up at the end of the meetings, all can let their hair down, as to speak and really enjoy a fun night of relaxation and celebration.  We will be    endeavoring to arrange special entertainment for the party — a special person who attended previous functions and we have really loved and enjoyed his singing, not to mention his colorful outfits.

Now for the BAD NEWS — a cost of $10.00 per head will be asked by attendees — this must be paid no later than Saturday,  29 November, as our Treasurer does not want to be taking money on the evening, as you can appreciate.

Liquid refreshments to paid for by the attendees.

Christmas in July  Following our listed Guest Speaker being unable to attend the meeting on 12 July, it was decided at short notice to hold a Christmas in July    evening.  Thank you John for your efforts and endeavours to make the evening a most enjoyable one.  Your home made pea and ham soup went down a treat.

I also loved the leg ham and Ray’s meat loaf.   The fruit salad and ice cream was a pleasant end of the supper.  My outfit [pictured] was worn to welcome Erroll back home from his trip to the UK and to welcome the Pope

to Sydney for World Youth Day.

Best wishes  David, Secretary.
