Hi Guys

Well what a night we had with our 17th Birthday Bash.

I was a bit nervous at first knowing that we would be having very          distinguished guests in our presence.  But what a delight it was to have Stevie Clayton, CEO ACON and Michelle Sparks our new           representative of MAG at ACON. And not forgetting the incredible   Honourable Justice Michael Kirby and his partner Johan. The evening went off so well with all three special guests giving us some

wonderful accolades in their speeches.

It is such a pity that two of MAG’s favourite sons were not with us,

as they were on the high seas enjoying a well deserved holiday on a cruise ship around the Islands.  It isn’t until people like John O’Dea are not at MAG that we come to realise what an amazing amount of work John does for MAG.  I know first hand because I had a shopping list a mile long with strict instructions on what I was to buy for the supper.

I am sure all who attended would agree with me that the supper was excellent and there was plenty to eat for everyone.

I know our special guests enjoyed themselves as they made a point of thanking me for their invitations.  Accolades were also bestowed on Steve Ostrow our founding member. Without Steve and his dream 17 years ago there would be no MAG and we would have a lot of lonely middle aged and old men at home with nothing to do.  MAG creates this special bond within our group.  Steve hasn’t been in the best of health lately, so please keep him in your thoughts. Get well soon Steve. I can’t let the moment slip by without acknowledging our own        MAGnificent Dame Dolly Devine of Marrickville, who looked so tragic in her Maggie Thatcher ensemble, he never seems to amaze us with what he will come out in next, you are an inspiration to MAG David thank you for all your contributions. Thank you once again to the guys in the kitchen, Jeff, Gordon, Ronnie and Doug for your untiring efforts in making our supper so scrumptious. To the greeters Lionel, Kent and Nick on the door thank you for making all the members old and new so welcome.  We now look forward to our next big celebration which will be our Christmas Party, this year it will be held at the Taxi Club.

Until next time take care of one another.

Hugs from your President Erroll xxx
